Ontario’s municipalities voted on Monday 26 October 2026. In Toronto, the City Clerk’s unofficial results feed, read at about 7 a.m. ET on 27 October with 1,431 of 1,431 polls reporting, shows incumbent Olivia Chow re-elected as mayor.
The count
- Olivia Chow: 532,201 votes (54.16%)
- Brad Bradford: 404,013 (41.11%)
- All other candidates combined: about 4.7%. The next highest were Braeden Chow (0.82%), Chris Alexander (0.36%) and Edward Gong (0.35%).
The City’s file records 982,660 votes for mayor against 2,143,771 eligible voters, which works out to about 45.8%. That is our calculation from the City’s two numbers, not an official turnout figure; the Clerk publishes official turnout after certification.
Where each candidate led
Using the City’s ward-by-ward mayoral file, Chow finished ahead in 19 of 25 wards. Bradford led in six: Etobicoke Centre, Etobicoke-Lakeshore, York Centre, Eglinton-Lawrence, Don Valley West and Willowdale. His widest lead was in Eglinton-Lawrence, 30,341 to 16,551.
Results are not final until the Clerk certifies them. — City of Toronto, on its election-night unofficial results
What else was on the ballot
Toronto voters also elected 25 ward councillors and trustees for the four school boards (Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire Viamonde and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir). We have not summarised the council and trustee races here. Other Ontario municipalities voted the same day; we are not reporting their mayoral results until we have read each city’s own results page.
What this piece refuses
We do not use media seat counts, poll comparisons or claims about who “won” particular voter groups. We do not call the result a mandate for any specific policy. We report the City’s own unofficial numbers and our arithmetic from them, labelled as such.
Bottom line
On the City’s unofficial count, Chow 54.2%, Bradford 41.1%, all polls in, 19 wards to 6. The Clerk still has to certify.
