Leaders’ own districts (preliminary)
From the candidate results page at the same read: Conservative interim leader Lorne Doerkson leads in Cariboo-Chilcotin with about 76%. Premier David Eby (BC NDP) leads narrowly in Vancouver-Point Grey, about 42.9% to 40.0% over Conservative Alex McMillan. Green candidate Emily Lowan leads in Saanich North and the Islands with about 54%. CBC reported that Doerkson became interim leader on 20 September after Kerry-Lynne Findlay resigned. We cite CBC for that background only.
What happens next
Elections BC’s key dates are the initial count on election night, then the final count, planned for 6–10 November. The results page says vote-by-mail, assisted telephone and absentee ballots are not counted on election night but “about two weeks after election day”. Return Day is 18 November. Close districts can flip in the final count.
What this piece refuses
We do not call seats, declare a winner, or project a government before the final count. We have not used media seat calls, poll comparisons or “swing” narratives. The leader positions are preliminary district leads, not results. The numbers will change as more ballot boxes report. This page shows the count as we last read it, and we will update it with the final count.
Bottom line
Preliminary only: Conservatives lead in 62 of 93 districts, NDP 29, Greens 2, with 80.97% of ballot boxes in. The final count runs 6–10 November and Return Day is 18 November.
