Federal prosecutors ask Washington to hold ballots of 400-plus alleged noncitizen voters; Secretary of State Hobbs pushes back

A 26 October letter on U.S. Attorney’s Office (Eastern District of Washington) letterhead asks Secretary of State Steve Hobbs to review, within 24 hours, a DHS list of more than 400 people it says are or were noncitizens who cast over 1,500 votes, and to stop verifying or counting their returned ballots until citizenship is determined. It sets a noon PST deadline on 28 October and threatens emergency relief. Hobbs says he will only respond to requests that follow due process and that DOJ’s system frequently flags citizens.
