EU data-centre rating scheme: A–G energy and water labels for sites over 500 kW, with first labels in 2027

The Commission adopted a delegated regulation on 21 September, C(2026) 3472, under the Energy Efficiency Directive. It sets up a common Union rating scheme: energy class A (PUE ≤1.15) to G (>1.9), water class A (WUE ≤0.1) to G (>1.0), plus label fields on renewable and nuclear sourcing, grid flexibility and waste-heat readiness. Parliament and Council have a two-month scrutiny window, and the first labels are expected in 2027.
