Alberta tables 91-seat electoral map from independent advisory panel; Legislature still must vote

On 2 November the Select Special Committee on Electoral Boundaries provided the Independent Advisory Panel’s report to the Assembly (SP 637/2025-2026) and tabled its own concluding report (SP 639). The panel’s mandate under Government Motion 37 was a 91-division map restoring Lac Ste. Anne and Rocky Mountain House–Sundre and proposing further Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge-area changes. A two-member minority opinion contests constitutionality; the maps are not law until MLAs enact them.
